Did a ride down the Princes Motorway and back with the XS850 rear drive.
60k/h 2000rpm
100k/h less than 3500rpm, maybe closer to 3200rpm
110k/h still not quite 4000rpm
115k/h 4000rpm maybe a tad more
Acceleration....who cares but not much difference from what I could feel.
Still plenty of pull in top when the speed goes down, not the same as the 1100 drive but if you are in a hurry just drop to 4th
Impression.... get used to the difference or get a ticket and the tank of fuel should last longer.
Well worth doing and quite an easy mod.
Thanks Kym for pushing me along.

This is a great mod - simple enough too......

Good work cant wait for the fuel figures 8)

I see a new business venture for you on the horizon Xtian....converting final drive units for the brethren.
It s always easy ....if you know how....or....have made all the rookie errors and are now more the wiser. Your knowledge and experience adds to this online library.
Congrats on your success.

yeah nah, lol, the novelty of over-gearing swiftly wears off.. me experimented those type of revs way back, it's fine for plodding - but that's all..
that ratio makes the eleven feel bland and spongy and just all-round down on real
performance, very noticeably unresponsive and lacking any real get-up-and-go, specially in 4th and 5th. . kills the elevens original 'pep' stone dead.. (but ok for crossing the nullabor.. )
also without major internal gearbox work - will destroy the already dodgy 1st and 2nd gear within mere seconds if you fully gas it from take-off..
