Title: VIN tags and frame numbers
Post by: Jonesy :-) on May 25, 2016, 04:25:06 PM
Just wondering what the lagalities are of taking a VIN tag from one motor cycle, and putting it on another frame, same make and model etc. Is this what they call re-birthing?
had an email discussion with another member, you know who you are  :-X
I'm 99.9% sure without getting off my arse and going to have a look, that the VIN tag number is also stamped into the frame on the head stem.

Yes Paul. I can confirm that they do have the Vin number stamped on the steering head. That's why there was a fair bit of whispering about that white and blue RH from a few years back that had a 2H9 frame number while the bike clearly was an RH.
