I have a 3 pin plug in the headlight housing not connected with a white/blue white/yellow and white/brown any idea what they are for Thanks Mick
-
The drawing I have isn't real clear, but if its a G model it might be for dimmer control on the instruments and connects to the speedo you press or pull the trip meter reset knob and it becomes a dimmer control
-
Yep,
Dimmer wire fir the speedo for the later model G and H.
Also present in the RH wiring

Thanks for the info I'm guessing that I have 1980 XS1100G with the wrong speedo as it hasn't got the wires for the dimmer Mick

Bit confused XS1100H is 1981 mine is a 1980
-
Hey Mick,
Just re checked the link. you are correct.
1980 G was 3X1 1000101
1981 H was 3X1 1001101.
I have an H with 3X1 1003131
The speedo without the dimmer came with the 2H9 loom.
The 3X1 loom has the extra 3 pin plug along with subtle differences.
Confusing aint it?
