Title: JUMPING IN TO GEAR
Post by: retro on October 19, 2015, 08:05:32 PM
Hi all
I bought a RH from Melbourne a few weeks ago it was not running.
I bought new manifold rubbers for it and got it running tonight after a lot of swearing and head scratching
but when you rev it  it jumps into first gear.
Has anybody had that happen to them before.
                                                                                  Thanks Tony (retro)

Only thing off the top of my head would be the gear locating pin on the end of the  shift drum, does it feel like there is resistance when you go thru the gears or does it roll round a bit to easy,

The pin looks like it has rifling ( thanx Eddie) on it will be located on the clutch side of the shift drum, maybe the spring has collapsed or is missing,
Thats where I'd start
