Title: EXCHANGE PARTS
Post by: steptoe on December 30, 2014, 05:45:12 PM
i have enough parts to start an exchange or borrow program

for those with mis-matched numbers when a motor needs a rebuild, for a dollar figure and your old motor,  a freshly rebuilt motor can delivered and the bike is off the road for a day or 2 instead of several weeks/months while you rebuild it yourself,

for those that have matching numbers the motor could be loaned whilst you get the original rebuilt, then returned, meaning your still riding the bike and not looking at it in a shed in pieces

the same can be done for carbs of different models, dollars and your set for exchange for a plug and play set,

would it be worth the effort before the dollars are spent or would every one like to do their own work

Hey Steptoe,
I have just picked up another RH, It's an 82 model, after giving it the once over I'll see weather it's a keeper or not , YOUR OFFER HOWEVER IS GENEROUS TO THE POINT OF EXTRAORDINARY, your blood is worth bottling.

Cheers

Lou

Hey Steptoe,
sounds like a perfect idea for those that might not be mechanically inclined.
Sure, they might be able to source a motor or carbies from a wrecker, but the condition will be unknown where as an item from the "bare foot garage" can be bought/exchanged with confidence.

another side of the coin I guess would be out right sale if involved in an accident were the motor is totaled
