Hmm swinging madly I would've had some suggestions......needle no moving will need a educated suggestion from one of the electrical boffins, but from a laymans view point I'd say its ffff...........inally giv'n up the ghost

Hi Scotty, there's a cable running from the gen or alternator it has a joiner- connection just behind fuses. Disconnect and clean make sure you clean well use a electrical cleaner spray before you reconnect. Then trace the cable to the regulator under the tank [you will have to remove ] just make sure the wiring three white wires are not damaged in any way they only carry 3-4 ohms each.  one white wire travels from the regulator to the tacho. Try to trace this wire especially were it goes in to tacho make sure you have a clean contact or wire is ok .OK start bike see if there's any life. If not Do you have a ohmmeter or a voltmeter that can measure ohms if you do check contact for connectivity  I think 4ohms. If there's  no reading or reading is high say 6ohms or more  chances are  tacho is stuffed. Coops.

Forgot to mention Scotty with regulator unbolt it from frame and clean any crud rusty crap etc around threads especially scrap off any paint back to bare metal where the bolts fasten reg to frame also clean earth contact buy some stainless steel hex bolts  m6 I think give the cleaned area a spray with a good lubricant and refit reg. Coops

Unfortunately this Tacho is for a special.  There are subtle differences like the high beam indicator in the middle. yours has it on the idiot lights.

It will fit and it will work...but you will have modified your MOST original unmolested cickle and may lose the title.

You are after a 5K7 version from ebay.de or ebay.co.uk
