Hmmmm, a Christmas present that's late, but worth the wait.
Hope there a trouble free fit.

That's very reassuring. Paul. Have you got some stainless rods for your welder? (you didn't mention that)

Don't be afraid Heinz, I'm qualified to use hammers ;)
Ev, the welding rods are a given, I never leave home or take on an exhaust job without ém

That exhaust looks beautiful!! Congrats on your purchase. I wish I could afford a set or three.
Now maybe you want to paint it with BBQ heat paint and wrap them too. Then paint on a couple of believable rust spots and maybe a few holes.  :D :o ;D At least that way no one will want to steal them right out from under you while you are riding.
As for the wrench and hammer, I am actually surprised that no one has come up with one for the market. I know loads of people who would buy it as their only tool.  :o

Hey Ras
I know a lot of people that just use the shifter (wrench) as a hammer.......bloody butchers

Yeah Jonezy, I think I bought a couple of bikes from them a few years ago to restore.

Here's my version of a composite tool -

(https://xs1100.com.au/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi950.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fad349%2FEveready1100%2FScreenHunter_227Jan091218_zps93f4dc07.jpg&hash=51bbe104427bbbb0c4604bbcd9524b3457ec8289) (http://s950.photobucket.com/user/Eveready1100/media/ScreenHunter_227Jan091218_zps93f4dc07.jpg.html)
Not as brutal as brett's device

(https://xs1100.com.au/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi950.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fad349%2FEveready1100%2FScreenHunter_226Jan091218_zpscc02f6c4.jpg&hash=a6434ac5294b420ba24d6ba078e2d3634ea96756) (http://s950.photobucket.com/user/Eveready1100/media/ScreenHunter_226Jan091218_zpscc02f6c4.jpg.html)
But damned handy at work. As well as the shifter end, it's got a philllips screwdriver, flat edge screwdriver, plain knife, and a saw tooth blade with a handy nail file on the back of it. Too small for the axle nuts unfortunately, but I use proper tools for them.
Can't remember where I got it from, but I've had it kicking around for years. Oh, and it's factory made like this.

Hi I'm new to the site and I need an exhaust system for my build. If I can't find a good four into two I will have to go a Four into one from the states. Did you get them made of lucky to find a good second hand system

A bloke in Germany makes them, same as the original inside and out  except in stainless
Cost me about $1500 landed here fit straight on
He also makes them for the RH and the XS750 triple

...He also makes them for the RH...

A system that'll fit the RH will also fit any "Special" and the XJ1100 too...  That's worth knowing...

If you're desperate, I have a Motad 4:1 for sale here (http://xs1100.com/forum/index.php?topic=11769.msg106199#new)

It'll cost a fair bit to pack and ship it though....
