Title: Early Morning Run Out ...
Post by: Garym on February 27, 2010, 10:11:24 PM
Though you may want to see a couple of stills of Ole Blighty.. Daniella the Wife was in the Westend overnight and well I couldn't sleep, it was a balmy morning so I set of to Hadleigh Castle which is maybe 4 miles from were I live....... It was originally built in the 11th Century I think and it is alleged that Henry The 8th and his daughter our first Queen Elizabeth stayed there when it was complete... It gradually slid down onto the marshes and the Elizabethan engineers decided back then that it would cost far to much to prop up .. So over the last 8- 900 years it has gradually drifted back to nature...

Parked up at around 6am and walked down to the castle.....

If you look closely you can just see the River Thames in the distance..... Just after sunrise...

Facing East .. Who would think France is less then 22 Miles away....

When I was there it was strange to see buildings or even just the remnants 1000 years old

Lovely pics Gary and a good story to go with it.

Will give you some Aussie rideouts when the bike is back on the tar.
