That is so true.
How many bikes of that era, 40 years old, are still being ridden today as daily rides?
Not many I bet.
It is a testiment to the original design that they have outlasted everything else.
Some medial savvy motorcycle journo should recogise that.

Yeah read it, was great, but what I?d like to see in our local old bike or classics magazines is a rite up / road test / on some of our members bikes and or club to bring our passion for these machines to the fore. We?ve had a bit here and a bit there but would be great to see a 3 - 4 page special on the XS1100, maby someone with a bit more tech/ media savvy could have a go? I think about it a lot but just don?t know where to start or have the social media experience or the confidence to pull it off! There?s been riteup stories about just about everything else but as far as the XS11 is concerned it?s always just an also ran! Maby I?ve missed it somewhere.
