hey Phil
I am pretty sure I secured the required seals and O ring from my local bearings supplier - worked a treat as discussed

Hi to all

Re the oil, it is nice gooey hypoid, freshly filled before I bought it - did he check the level I ask?????
I'm doing the seals anyway, since 33 yrs is a long while, just hope they are all available, Mal P is looking so I'm hopeful.

Re J2 and XS11E, just give me a call, I work from home so I'm here a lot. An assembly of XS11s at the Pie in the Sky would be a good pic for the site.

Hi fp.....you have bought yourself a nice bike....congrats.
The problem you have with the oil on the back wheel seems fairly unique. Is it engine or diff oil ?

Well, it was April 2006 when I first emailed Xtian re his XS1100 and said I was on the lookout for a good one, having ridden a couple and owned an XS750 E when they were new and really enjoyed the handling [Dunlop Red Arrows - remember them? great tyres, and Koni shocks did make a difference!]. Never saw one that wasn't a bit of a veteran until a couple of months ago when Classic bikes Direct imported an XS1100G from Georgia USA that looked to be a minter [ pics will be on the site soon] with 11000miles on it, so the deal was done. Apart from the usual micron thick Jap chrome with no copper or nickel under it [ why waste money on that?] which will need polishing regularly to keep rust specks at bay [and rust behind the headlight ears, now Penetrolled] she is pretty much as per the pics. Once I sort out the rear tyre [too wide] and the oily rear wheel, I think we'll be in business. Club plates mean the cost of ownership is pretty low, so all in all, looking forward to meeting up with you at the rallies etc.
I'm in Berowra Hts, Sydney [0294563192] if anyone is up for a spin [after I sort the minor issues.......
cheers
