I believe you guys are the ones to contact regarding XS1100's.
I have one that I will be putting on the market soon but am wondering if you know of anyone who may be interested. It is a 1982 model and I would be looking at $2500.00. If I was to fix it I would be asking a lot more.
It is a project bike i.e. it is not running.
I have had it for the past 5/6 years and have not had the time to get it going. I purchased it from a guy in Sydney who had it in his shed for about 8-10 years. During that time it ended up with a stuck valve in the open position. I am just pleased that when I looked at it after I purchased it I did not try to start it. When I first bought it I took the plugs out and squirted some lubricant in the cylinders and turned it over by hand. It was then that I found that it had a stuck valve. It could be a simple fix by removing the rocker cover and hitting the valve with a blunt instument - hammer. It may spring back into position.
I did purchase a new top end gasket kit for it and a few other items i.e. air cleaner, new rear tyre fitted etc. The brakes need work i.e. I did disconnect the rear caliper as it was binding. I have too many other projects taking priority. This one needs to go to a new home.
Please let me know if you know of anyone who may be interested.
