Title: Rally 2020
Post by: coe1948 on September 04, 2019, 05:41:56 PM
Hello everyone I thought I would start a post for the 2020 Rally to get some conversation started .

So far there have been a couple of suggestions put forward.
Wauchope in NSW or joining up with the 2020 VJMC rally in Toowoomba happening on the same dates.

Yes  :o

Hen
Yes what?
Title: Re: Rally 2020
Post by: hen on September 11, 2019, 02:35:24 PM
Yes I like all ideas the VJMC... as the wise Eddie has suggested could inject new direction to our little get together but Wauchope sounds like a special place to visit and Motorcycle friendly and Toowoomba  is only a short trip for the QLD people but by piggy backing on the organisation by VJMC we have rides organised and a dinner if we want or we could do our own thing and partake in what we want of theirs.
Question do we have to be a member of VJMC to be part of their functions.

or do we want to be a strong independent group of enthusiasts doing our own Rally  :-*

I vote for VJMC for this year  :D

I guess the question is:

Wauchope- yes?-no?

VJMC - yes? - no?

Who will travel?

Post by: hen on September 11, 2019, 06:52:35 PM
Well we need to know a bit more about the VJMC affair what goes on the cost of accommodation and what ever else they supply we need young LOU to step up and give us an idea of cost. and yes it is a long way for some to travel.... :'(
Title: Re: Rally 2020
Post by: Jonesy :-) on September 12, 2019, 10:27:24 PM
Well, i havent been more than 2 hrs from home for the wellington rallys so either is ok for me, top roads around wauchope, but the idea of giving the steptoes a break from the hassle of organising everything makes me think vjmc is a winner
Title: Re: Rally 2020
Post by: hen on September 14, 2019, 03:10:52 PM
A ok
Can we do a mass email to all members 8) to get some idea of numbers for each location and we maybe have 2 get together s each year but lets get an idea of numbers  :'( for may

There are some nice roads up Toowoomba way probably not as good as wauchope.

I'm with Jones on this - T'ba is close to my home but it would be an interesting diversion, we would add some colour to the VJMC gig, some nice rides in the area too
We can do the NSW venue off the Oxley the year after
Having said that - I'll go wherever our gig is to be ......
Title: Re: Rally 2020

I've been thinking for a while now that because of distances and time involved it may be possible to have a couple of meetups, one northish and one southish so everyone gets a chance to have a get together without the distances and time involved????
Hen reckons it's a go.
Any ideas about this thought bubble???

I'm with Bryan and Jonesy , will travel anywhere, somewhere different is good, and the idea of two rallies I like but only if they are held at different times so that those that wish can attend both.
Great ocean rd is good Eddie, just need to watch out for all the tourists

As Hen has put my name down as an info point, you don't need to be a VJMC member to attend unless you want to display a bike for a trophy, Bryan and Hen were at this years Rally and I met Christian at the 2011 Rally at Warilla, they can explain what the atmosphere is like among hundreds of other Jap bike enthusiasts, everything is organised, food, rides, marshals etc, there is more information coming out in mid October with dinner costs etc and I'm more than happy to pass them on, like every year I attend this event I book a self contained cabin and just share the cost, to me it's a go with the flow and not organize anything but simply getting there.
Cheers
Lou

Well sounds like a way to brake the cycle  :-\ and keep the Banner flying I am in.
to follow up on what has been said, my interaction this year with the VJMC rally was all positive.
So i will be waiting for LOU to pass on the information in Mid October  ;)

so any ideas on a get together down south later in 2020

Just letting everyone know that there is a thought we would have our meetup same date, first weekend in May 2020 at the VJMC Rally at Toowoomba.

It will not be an XS1100 rally this year but a showing of numbers, hopefully.

So next year it will be XS1100 Group showing up at the VJMC Rally.

It's cheap to join the VJMC so anyone with an XS should be a member.

https://mailchi.mp/58c96e0e660d/vjmc-agm-notice-331135?e=312b425dd4

Members can put their bikes in the show and shine etc.

Hope anyone who can attend will be there. Email with details if you think you may be attending so we can get some numbers this is the email address to use........

I have to make a few adjustments to the old girl before I turn up. Six carby kits required.

6 carbys! does that mean you need 1 & 1/2 carbtune kits to do the vacuum synchro?

I can do it with three. Just set them up in pairs. Number four is the reference one.
