I see the CLC got a bit of a write up in the latest edition of "old bike australia"
and I think it said the peoples choice was taken out by a honda cx 500 (in its day it was AKA the plastic maggot) WT?! mind you the only thing recognisable was the motor

speaking of souped up triples, a Triumph Rocket 3 took the Concours dyno trophy with 230hp.......

I see the barefoot mechanic is all dressed up and Michelle has taken on the barefoot duties

my bit
this time the trip went without a hitch,
a relaxed ride over to Evs' as usual, then down the road in warming sunshine to the obligatory {almost} coffee stop,
a bit of fuel, even with Michelle on pillion the martini still used less than a solo Ev, got to love that very slippery fairing and diff
motoring on Ev peeled off to visit family and we headed into Brissy for a bit bussiness purchasing, not getting wet but riding on wet metro roads,

the evening was spent jawing and drinking with a little bit of eating, dinner was excellent even if we did all absently minded get and leave without paying, {whoops},, leaving bryan to pay for the majority of it, {only till we fixed him up the next day}

the day {several hrs} was spent  talking to people that had owned an 11, or 1 vjmc lad that was in the throws of rebuilding,
one fella Pat that lived in Cleveland,  {the suburb of the show}  a long time self confessed site stalker that had parked his bike 27 yrs ago, not intentionaly that long but time flies with family and is looking to also give it a going over
and then as we were litterally leaving a bloke rolls over and says my dads got one of those, {you should of heard Michelle with her huh} I also thought he was talking about the martini, it turns out he wasn,t , his father has one in a shed in need of a bit of tlc

so thanks to Bryan and his crew for another great weekend and no doubt I,ll be closer next yr to be definitely there,
and Xtian for the effort in the pouring rain to get there, and Jonesys' effort and his non event, its the thought that counts

good to catch up with Steptoe , Eveready and Hen and Bryan and special guest Xtian
 there were a few surprise visitors during the day and a few enquiries about joining the forum  good to know there s still  XS's  hiding in sheds awaiting revival,was looking forward to seeing a chain driven XS on display but  it didn't happen may be next year huh

Glad to see it finally came off, couldnt get the stars to line up for the 2nd date. Hope to be there for 2018 event

Well that didn't quite go as planned -
Club Laverda Qld Concours 2017 - Time shifted from July to November, then postponed due to rain, Concours 2017 was convened on Sunday November 12th under perfect blue skies.
With Shannons Insurance as our major sponsor, supported by Brisbane Motorcycles, Ricondi Race and Road Leather, Penrite Oil and some 25 minor sponsors, the event saw some 17 trade stalls, 15 motorcycle club displays, 135 Concours entrants for the 60 trophies, (including $2000 for Best in Show) and over 2500 motorcycle enthusiast visitors. Thanks to my fellow Club Laverda members, volunteers and supporters for a very successful day.
